Personally, I think these guys are learning what women have known for a long time - that society lied to them about what will give them status. They're just lashing out.
I'm skeptical about that "vulnerable traumatized little boy" narrative because how many times have we heard this exact same line applied to murderers, rapists, or other types of deplorable men to take responsibility away from themselves and assign it to someone else (usually women). Under this same premise of "vulnerable traumatized little boy," the violence they do to others (usually women and children) is then framed as some sort of "justice against those who've hurt them" and invites sympathy from women to turn against the victims (again, women and children) of their crimes. However, men who actually have been traumatized and abused generally empathize with women who have been victims, too, as noted by those who've worked with male victims of trauma and trafficking victims, and that empathy prevents them from harming or even wishing harm on others. So, I call "Bullshit" on this flat-out.
The Manosphere exists because all men across all cultures may participate in hating women as a form of male bonding and a reassurance of power. This is why Manosphere types play up wealth and other empty symbols of status and power in their vlogs, clips, drawings, and writings, and why they take on these bombastic, loudmouthed personas. It's all about playing to the IDEA of power. It's also one big community of DARVO where the Manosphere constantly reassures men that they are NEVER responsible for their actions, hatred, or their sexual inclinations to harm women and assault children. They also play up the idea of "Men as the unequivocally good" between the sexes which is used to massage the egos of the men who participate and as justification as to why women deserve to be treated horribly. Men are the "good" and blameless of everything, and women are the "bad" and therefore, deserve whatever abuse a man may please. This also excuses pedophilia since women are considered women as children, and they don't see assaulting a 14, 15, or 16yo as any different than an adult woman. (I was disturbed to learn in researching that there was a study done about reddit users that demonstrates that there is mainstream acceptance of pedophilia based on more people disagreeing about what constitutes as a minor.)
The Manosphere also aggressively dictates male sexual entitlement. Boys and men are constantly fed the message that what "really makes you a man" is how much sex you get. Other people getting sex is then framed as "harm" against the men who are not getting sex. This is why how much sex one has is taken as a "privilege" that of course, women must have as the desired sex and is taken as an indicator that women are actually "the dominate" in society. This creates the neurotic mentality among the men in the Manosphere that getting sex by whatever means necessary is perfectly valid and reasonable, even if its coercion, drugging, rape, sex buying (which is paid rape,) or assaulting a child. Rapist, trafficker, and pimp, Andrew Taint is well-known for telling men to "GET YOURS!" and men tell themselves they shall because sex owed to them and if they don't, then the world is laughing at them. And it doesn't matter who they hurt because women are evil and deserve it, so they feel morally reassured by their violence.
If we're looking at race specifically among Manosphere types, there is an interesting dichotomy because on the one hand, biracial, mixed race, and other racial minorities flock to the Manosphere to reassure themselves they have power over ALL women as a form of sex-based Jim Crow, but they also worship Caucasian males. If you look at the memes and the presentations of men whom they think of as "ideal," they're generally white. So, it encourages this self-hatred among minority men while exalting "white as the ideal." Minority men may accept this because they still see themselves superior to all women and may be seeking "white by proxy" with white men in their cluster.
All the above is male-targeted brainwashing about one's inherent superiority and moral authority over women and children despite celebrating and encouraging men to do immoral and harmful things to women and children. Men who want an excuse to harm others and be accepted for the sexual harms he exacts on others can easily find fellowship in the Manosphere. Men can use any horrible thing that's happened to them, not as an impetus to find actual justice or prevent similar things from happening to others, but as an excuse to humiliate, harm, and abuse others. Men who feel slighted by social hierarchies may be reassured in the Manosphere that at least they're better than women, and by the way, everything women have is undeserved and men are perfectly justified in showing preference to men over women on principle alone.
It's a very attractive siren call for the very worst men among us because it doesn't just accept but encourage the very worst beliefs among men. Men who feel slighted by other men for not taking up friendships with them because they sense their grodiness get to have male friends in the Manosphere who may be very good at making themselves look better than they are in real life. Men who feel like losers because "girls don't like them" get to be reaffirmed that they're still entitled to sex and women are just evil for not giving it to them.
Now, most men who are well-adjusted and have a solid sense of self roll their eyes at the Manosphere because they can see straight through this BS, but they also don't realize this is a major problem. Because it is true that men DO have more social power than women and children, they are on average bigger and stronger than us, and when men feel justified in doing harm to women and children based on a hyper-DARVO ideology, well, the expected outcomes do happen.
